Microsoft 365 and SharePoint are widely used across major organizations for intranet and collaboration purposes. SharePoint goes beyond file storage by linking sites, managing content, and connecting with other applications. This course builds on existing SharePoint knowledge to cover planning and managing a multi-site intranet, including hub sites, advanced list configuration, and Power Apps integration. Students will learn how to take on a site owner role and extend SharePoint with Power Platform tools.
Target Audience
- SharePoint site users who are comfortable navigating and contributing to existing sites and want to move into a site owner role by learning how to create sites, structure an intranet, and work with Microsoft Power Platform features such as Power Apps
Prerequisites
- Basic end-user skills with Microsoft Windows
- Experience using SharePoint as a site user, including viewing content, entering data, and navigating between sites
- Familiarity with working in SharePoint lists and libraries

Course Outline
Module 1: Building a Multi-Site Intranet
Plan the structure of an organizational intranet. Create and configure team sites and communication sites in SharePoint.
Module 2: Linking Sites with a Hub
Set up a hub site to connect related sites. Apply site templates and configure shared themes. Manage navigation across all associated sites.
Module 3: Adding and Managing Site Content
Design custom page layouts. Organize and manage files within libraries. Import data into lists and maintain list content.
Module 4: Configuring List Data Entry and Display
Add validation rules to control what users can enter. Create calculated columns using formulas. Adjust how list data is presented to users.
Module 5: Connecting a Power Apps Application to SharePoint Online
Create a Power Apps application that connects to a SharePoint list. Customize and expand the application’s features.
Module 6: Appendix A: Removing Unused Resources
Locate and review sites, libraries, and lists that are no longer in use. Apply appropriate lifecycle management and retention practices.
