Implementing Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure – Advanced (DCACIA)

Description

Duration: 5 days

The Implementing Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure–Advanced (DCACIA) course covers the integration of Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches operating in Cisco ACI mode. Students learn to configure and manage these switches using ACI’s policy and management framework, including the protocols that operate within the underlying fabric. The course also addresses Cisco ACI as a software-and-hardware policy solution and walks through Multi-Pod and Multi-Site deployment scenarios. Completion of this course earns 40 Continuing Education (CE) credits applicable to Cisco recertification.

Course Outline
Module 1: Advanced Packet Forwarding in Cisco ACI

This module examines advanced packet forwarding within the Cisco ACI fabric, covering how traffic is directed through the fabric and the mechanisms that govern forwarding behavior at an advanced level.

Module 2: Advanced Policy and Tenant Configuration in Cisco ACI

This module covers advanced policy and tenant configuration topics in Cisco ACI, including Contracts and Zoning Rules, VRF Route Leaking, and the Rogue Endpoint Feature.

Module 3: Integrating Traditional Networking Constructs into Cisco ACI

This module explains how conventional network constructs, such as Transit Routing, can be implemented within a Cisco ACI environment, connecting traditional networking approaches with ACI’s policy-driven model.

Module 4: Cisco ACI Service Graph and Policy-Based Redirect

This module covers the Service Graph feature and Policy Based Redirect (PBR), focusing on how to redirect traffic to Layer 4–7 service nodes within the Cisco ACI fabric.

Module 5: Cisco ACI Multi-Pod Fabric Deployment

This module addresses the design and deployment of Cisco ACI Multi-Pod fabrics, including the protocols and configuration steps needed to extend ACI connectivity across multiple pods.

Module 6: Cisco ACI Multi-Site Deployment

This module covers Cisco ACI Multi-Site deployments and the role of the Cisco ACI Multi-Site Orchestrator in managing and interconnecting multiple ACI sites.
