Course Outline
Module 1: Introduction to Access
Open Access and work with an existing database. Use tables to store data. Use queries to locate, combine, filter, and sort data. Use forms to view, add, and edit records. Use reports to display data.
Module 2: Building Tables
Plan the structure of an Access database. Create a new database file. Build a new table. Define relationships between tables.
Module 3: Building Queries
Build basic queries. Add calculations to a query. Apply sorting and filtering within a query.
Module 4: Building Forms
Create a new form. Add enhancements to an existing form.
Module 5: Building Reports
Create a new report. Refine and format the report layout.
Module 6: Controlling Data Input Quality
Limit data input using field-level validation. Limit data input using form and record validation rules.
Module 7: Maintaining Efficiency and Data Integrity
Apply data normalization principles. Link tables that are not directly related. Configure referential integrity between tables.
Module 8: Using Microsoft Copilot Chat
Overview of Microsoft Copilot Chat. Structuring effective prompts. Using AI tools to work more efficiently.
