This is a comprehensive self-paced online course developed to provide an introduction to ICD-10 Procedural Coding System. This module-based online training helps to “de-code” ICD-10 PCS to gain a good understanding of how to “construct” a procedure code. ICD-10-PCS procedure codes are all 7 digits and each character level has a specific unique meaning and requirement. There is a greater emphasis on learning the root operation component of an ICD-10-PCS code.
This course will benefit hospital coders, hospital billing staff, and clinicians interested in understanding and applying ICD-10-PCS codes.
Prerequisites
Before attending this course, students must have:
- At least a high school diploma but an associate’s degree is highly recommended
- Prior coding experience would be helpful
