Duration: 5 Days

During this five-day, students will learn the required skills to build a private cloud using VMware Integrated OpenStack on VMware-proven SDDC.

 

Upon completion of this Boot Camp, students will be able to:

  • Describe how VMware Integrated OpenStack fits into the VMware SDDC and its use cases
  • List the deployment options and how to install VMware Integrated OpenStack
  • Describe the architecture of VMware Integrated OpenStack and its components
  • Configure tenancy and manage user authentication
  • Integrate with VMware NSX for vSphere and VMware NSX-T networking platforms
  • Deploy and manage virtual machine instances
  • Mange containers using VMware Integrated OpenStack with Kubernetes
  • Monitor VMware Integrated OpenStack with built-in tools and integrate with VMware vRealize Operations and VMware vRealize Log insight
  • Design an auto-scale, multitier application using built-in automation tools
  • List the commands, configuration files, log files, and database tables used by VMware Integrated OpenStack components

Prerequisites

It is recommended that students of the Boot have previous knowledge or experience with:

  • VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage 6.7 or equivalent knowledge
  • VMware Integrated OpenStack Fundamentals
  • VMware Network Virtualization Fundamentals
  • Knowledge of Linux administration and TCP/IP networking is also helpful

Module 3: Troubleshooting the NSX Management Cluster

  • Describe the NSX Management cluster architecture, components, and communication channels
  • Identify the workflows involved in configuring the NSX Management cluster
  • Validate and troubleshoot the NSX Management Cluster formation

 

Module 4: Troubleshooting Infrastructure Preparation

  • Explain and troubleshoot ESXi Transport Node Preparation issues
  • Explain and troubleshoot KVM Transport Node preparation issues

Module 5: Troubleshooting Logical Switching

  • Configure Syslog, IPFIX, and log collections for the NSX-T Data Center environment

Module 10: NSX-T Data Center Upgrade

  • Identify the proper sequence of steps to upgrade the NSX-T Data Center
