CompTIA A+ 220-901 and 220-902 exams to retire July 31st, 2019

As one the foundations of any IT career, CompTIA A+ has become a preferred certification for technical support and IT Operation roles for most companies. However, CompTIA A+ is more than just a PC repair certification.

Candidates that earn this certification find themselves:

  • Better prepared to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • A wide variety of issues ranging from Networking and operating systems to mobile devices and security
  • Support a systems ability to connect users to the data they need to do their jobs regardless of the device being used.

CompTIA has now launched a new series are intended to support more devices, programs and I operating systems to ensure that both aspiring and established IT professionals.

Launched on January 21st, 2019 Core 1 (220-1001) and Core 2 (220-1002) will be replacing the 900 series (220-901 and 220-902) officially on July 15th, 2019.

Some of the changes in the 1000 new series include:

  • Mobile device network connectivity, application support and device synchronization
  • Networking hardware devices (routers, switches, access points, cloud-based network controller, PoE, etc.)
  • Custom PC configurations including virtualization workstations and NAS devices
  • Sharing multifunction devices and printers via OS settings, wired and wireless connections, 3D printing
