Miami Local Security User Group Meeting at The Code Academy of Florida
NetworkSamurai.org present the Miami Local Security User group. This is a somewhat monthly meeting of Security Professionals or Enthusiasts open to the Public. Call for Presentations are opened to anyone and selected by the organizer. This month The Code Academy of Florida was very nice to let us have the use of a class room for our user group.
Meeting Agenda
Meeting outline:
- December and January Patch Analysis
- Security News
These monthly gatherings are a great opportunity for IT and cybersecurity professionals in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area to network, share knowledge, and stay current on the latest security trends and threats. Attendees range from beginners exploring a career in cybersecurity to experienced professionals looking to sharpen their skills and expand their local network.
Special Presentation: Wireless Security
SPECIAL PRESENTATION
Understand Wireless… Or get pwn3d.
The focus of the special presentation this month is an overview of wireless with a special focus on how others are using open hotspots (like the ones at starbucks) in a malicious fashion.
Topics covered include how attackers exploit unsecured Wi-Fi networks, common techniques used in the wild, and practical steps you can take to protect yourself and your organization. This kind of hands-on, real-world knowledge complements formal cybersecurity training and certifications like CompTIA Security+ and Cisco CCNA.
Whether you are new to cybersecurity or a seasoned professional, this presentation offers valuable real-world insight into wireless vulnerabilities that affect everyday users and organizations alike.
If you have any questions or to join the mailing list please send an email to moses@networksamurai.org
